This will be where players can “boast” of their achievements in recent tournaments.
Pleased drop me a line and let me know how you did.
I will do my best to report it to the website.

Happy New Year all!
It has been a while since I have reported.
I am so sorry.
I hope you had a very enjoyable holiday season.
Many of us traveled this fall to some tourneys, but as this writing,
I do not remember all the results.
I will try and be better in the New Year.
John Adams will be traveling to Las Vegas to represent the GLDA and
Region 4-1 in the national Cricket Championships on January 25.
Please wish him well.
We will be having a playoff for our association for the ADO Masters.
I am planning it on a couple of Tuesdays before we start league play.
We will have some sort of round robin play, but a shortened form of it.
I will have the website post it ASAP with all the details.
I am asking that you email me if you are interested,
so that I will have an idea of the amount of players.
But please come anyway if I don’t get an email!
We really need to have your participation is these events.
Come out and support the GLDA, and have a fun night of darts.
Maybe if we have it on our off Tuesdays, we can get more out.
Lexington is having a day tourney on Jan. 19.
Let me know if you are interested, and I can get you the details.
You might find it on their website too.
I have been voted region 4-1 ADO director for this darting year.
I am hoping to make this a better year, and I will try to answers to any of your questions.
Please check the website for more details.
My new email is:
Throw ‘em straight.

Here it is, another season of darts.
There are many events to report on just from the last month or so. So, here we go!
Mark Hilbert represented the GLDA in Stamford, CN for the East West All Stars.
He just missed getting the cut.
But we are proud to say he got a top 8 finish in the men’s 501 singles.
Way to go Mark!
Many of us attended the Music City tournament on a very hot August weekend.
Brian Funke got a top 16 finish in the blind draw.
John Adams was top 8 in the trips with Les Rager, and Manuel Lairson.
He got a top 4 in the 4 man team event, and in doubles 01 he got a top 16.
I was a top 8 finish in the cricket doubles with Jenni Higgs from Indy and
I won the women’s blind draw with Nancy Jo Sebring.
Many pictures and results are on the Greater Nashville darting site.
John traveled to Atlanta to play in the Peachtree Classic and also the PDC event.
He played with a buddy of his formally of Cincinnati, Frank Wolfe.
They were in the top 16 in Doubles cricket, and John was top 4 in the blind
draw and top 16 in the cricket. He also played in the PDC on Sunday.
You’ll have to get some more of the details when you see him.
We also were in Chicago for the Windy City. I can’t report much from my side here,
but an unlucky first round draw of Marilyn Popp and Stacy Bromberg.
John played in the PDC on Sunday and advanced one round.
He will get some “pounds” in the mail soon for his finish.
He also got second in the men’s singles 01.
Congrats John!
We had a much better turnout for the cricket association playoff than in the past.
We played a long day of darts. John Adams, Ty Raymond, and I will be going
to Indy to play the regional on Oct. 28th. We paid some extra dollars to send 2
men this year. Anyone wanting to compete in the regional from our
association is welcome. I’ll let you know the details if you are interested.
Please keep me posted of any events and results. Have a great season of darts!

Last weekend, I traveled to the Virginia Beach Classic.
It was my first time to attend this one. Wow! This is one of the biggest I have been too.
Many people attend this one from all over the United States.
The hotel was also right on the beach. We stayed at one down the road, but still beautiful.
I was pretty pleased with my showing at this one.
I got top 32 in the singles cricket, and yes, they paid down that far.
There were over 115 women competing. I was beat by Robin Curry from Canada.
Stacy Bromberg set me up with David Fatum from Arizona. He is one tough player.
We were able to get top 16 in both the cricket and 501 mixed doubles.
My women’s partner, Sue Cherry and I also got top 16 in both doubles too.
My friends Les Rager and Joyce Clum also got in the top 16 in 501 doubles.
Les was able to get top 32 in cricket and top 16 in the 501 singles.
She is representing region 4-1 in the ADO Masters in Charlotte on April 20.
I will be going along to lend moral support and play in the weekend tournament.
The final plans are being made for the St. Joseph’s charity shoot on April 28
at the Moose Lodge in Sellersburg. We have lots of raffle items, dot shoots,
and the big blind draw at 3:00. All of the challenges will take place at 1:00.
If you still want to put together a challenge, let us know.
But hurry…… I might know of some players from out of town that might
be looking for one too. Just let me know! Hope to see you all there.

Well, it is spring and the dart tournaments are in full swing.
Several of us attended the St. Pat’s tourney in Indianapolis this past weekend.
Vicki Richards, John Adams, Ty Raymond, Jeff Gilbert, Mark Hilbert, and I made a
decent showing. Vicki and I won the women’s doubles 501.
We played against Brenda Roush and her partner. Brenda is currently the no. 2 woman
in the country. We played well, and were happy with the win.
However, as the luck of the Irish would have it, we drew them first round in the
cricket and they were not going to let us win this one.
My singles are still not up to par, but I am working on it.
I feel much more comfortable at the line, and will be writing soon
to tell you that I was able to place. Mark, Vicki, and Ty placed in the top 8 of
mixed triples. Way to go! John, Jeff and I won a match in our triples
but were not able to pull any more. Jeff and John played doubles, but did not place.
John placed top 16 in cricket with a tough loss to Ray Carver.
Mark and Ty placed in one of their doubles matches.
We had a great time and represented the GLDA well.
I will be going to Virginia Beach the last of March.
It is one of the biggest tourneys on tap on the ADO calendar.
Then I will be going to North Carolina in April. Due to some
funding problems, Mark will not be attending this one as previously reported.
We are hoping for a MUCH better turnout from our GLDA players in the
next ADO qualifier which will be April 14 at Keena’s.
This one is for the ADO All Stars. The regional will be May 12 in Louisville also.
More info to follow at a later date on the regional. I handed out many
fliers for our charity shoot and am hoping for many visitors for the event.
Stacy Bromberg will be sending some items for the event.
Johnny K and Ray Carver were contacted also, and were very interested in
helping us out. We will see……….. John and Rusty Goff will be shooting for
bulls eyes and a world record. I just received news from Dennis that
Guinness Book of World Records has given us the go ahead! WOW,
they might be making history!
Please make plans to attend the charity shoot to help
the St. Joseph’s Children’s Home and have a great day of darts!

I hope that the spring league finds everyone shooting well.
I have just a few reminders of things coming up.
I hope that our league will have a fine showing at the Indianapolis St. Pat’s Tournament.
I know of a few of us going. And I hope that many more of you can show up.
Many of the top shooters attend this tourney and it is a fun one!
Make sure to wear your green! I will send the flier to the website. Look for it there.
Or you may e-mail me for any details.
I am also working on the next ADO play-off for our association.
It will be for the ADO All Stars. I am planning it for April 14th.
Do not know the where and time yet, but I am hoping for a GREAT turnout.
Please e-mail me if you think that you might be interested so that we can get a
number of how many might be playing. Remember that Mark Hilbert will be going to
North Carolina in April for the ADO Masters. If you see him, wish him good luck!
Let me know if I can help ou with anything!

I have good news about a couple of our darters from the benefit in Lexington.
John Adams beat Mitch Payton in the 301 singles. They swapped positions in the 501.
John also donated a portion of his winnings back to Johnetta. What a heart!
I heard that they collected over $3,000! Awesome!
John teamed up with Jeff Gilbert, also from North Vernon, Indiana
{where I live too} and won the Cricket doubles. Jeff and John are two great players!
I have been shooting with and against them since I started playing in 1994.
Jeff is the reason I attended my first steel-tip tournament in Cincinnati.
I am happy to say that Jeff with be shooting in GLDA this season.
He is known to many darters in this area and also the nation.
In the 501 regional, I was not on my game.
The double 10 seemed to be my nemesis in a few crucial matches.
Les Rager will be representing region 4-1 in North Carolina in April.
She represents the IDA in Indianapolis.
Mark Hilbert will go on to North Carolina too, if we can help him raise some needed funds.
The men did not seem to show in Indianapolis.
Les Rager and I will be going to the “Shoot the Rapids” an ADO sanctioned
tournament in Grand Rapids, Michigan the weekend of Feb. 16th.
We did very well there last year and hope to defend some titles.
Hoping we can get there with all the snow forecasted in northern Indiana this week.
I will be getting the ADO certificates for the ton 80s, nine marks, and dead eyes to Dennis ASAP. Sorry I missed the meeting. We got more snow than L’ville.
Have fun in league this season. See many of you coming up on Tuesdays!

Another tournament has come and gone.
I attended the Blood Shot Open in Columbus, OH on Feb.2nd and 3rd.
I ended up as the only GLDA member to attend this event.
Some of the others went to Lexington for the benefit.
I hope to hear from them to see how they did.
I was able to get top 8 in the mixed cricket doubles along with Nick Lindberg from Cincinnati. That was the only event that I placed in.
I couldn’t quite get the job done again in the singles.
I am, however, working through my “hitch”.
The darts seem to be coming out of my hand better, now I need to work on the aim.
Many of you know how I have been struggling, and I hope it will all be behind me soon.
I hope my team members hang in there with me! They help keep my spirits up!
The 2 tournaments in Columbus, The Buckeye Open and the Blood Shot Open
will be more money next time and will be ADO sanctioned events.
I hope that the GLDA will be well represented next time.

On January 26, I traveled to Alabama to attend the “Shoot for the Moon” tournament.
I was able to place second in the Mixed Doubles with Brannon McDaniel from TN.
He is great shot and I have shot with him before.
I also finished top four in the Mixed trips along with Brannon and Richy Brunner.
They were also the Men’s Champions in the 501.
Singles did not fair too well, but there is always next time.
There will be some of us GLDA players attending the Blood Shot Open
in Columbus, Ohio the weekend of Feb. 2nd and 3rd.
We hope to bring back lots of good news.
Keep me posted of any results from the tournaments.
